Notice from FJCF regarding COVID-19 and the 2021 Languages at Work program

Thank you very much for your interest in the Summer 2021 Languages at Work program.

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC), which is responsible for administering the Explore program, has announced that almost all Explore 2021 sessions will be offered virtually. Given the inseparable link between the Explore program and the Languages at Work program, we have no choice but to acknowledge this decision and its impact on our ability to offer the Languages at Work program for summer 2021.

Much more than a simple employment program, Languages at Work relies heavily on the physical presence of participants in their host community to provide them with a unique immersion experience. For that reason, we believe that it will be difficult to offer this program in the summer of 2021. We will continue to work with the institutions that offer the Explore program and partner with us, but the possibility of offering jobs seems, at this point, very unlikely.

Instead, we suggest you look at the Young Canada Works in Both Official Languages (YCWBOL) program to see job opportunities for the summer of 2021. We are truly sorry about this situation, and thank you for your understanding, patience, cooperation and support.
